GDM Patients journey , INDIAS first patient to receive Ypsopump therapy during her pregnancy –
We would like to share the story of Sarita (name changed), who because of few issues both medical in social had to undergo in vitro fertilization (at one of the premier IVF centres of the city)in order to have successful pregnancy.
But there was one deterring factor. She was having Diabetes during her pregnancy
When she visited us a few times, we found that Sarita needs some thing different from the conventional therapies and the financial burden was the hindrance for optimal care
Dr. Arun Pandey (Endocrinologist) at LEDTC (Lucknow Endocrine Diabetes and Thyroid disease) immediately decided to help Sarita and put her on insulin pump so that Sarita will have a positive experience managing diabetes in pregnancy.
We decided to purchase the insulin pump as Sarita was not able to purchase insulin pump which is costing between 2-3 lakhs
We purchased the insulin pump and provided it on minimum rental basis to Sarita
During her tenure in pregnancy Sarita has found good experience with insulin pump keeping glycemic control under range.
And that has brought safety to mother as well as womb baby
On 9th September Sarita has delivered a very cute boy with 2.8 kg of weight and became Indias first GDM patient to experience the quality of service provided by LEDTC on insulin pump. Both mother and little boy are healthy after delivery.
Dr. Arun Pandey personally visited yesterday to the hospital and met with Sarita.
